Greenvolt is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead and manage project development activities for solar PV and BESS projects, including site identification, land negotiations, permitting, and coordination with landowners, local communities, and government authorities. Ensure projects progress toward construction readiness by managing approval processes, securing required agreements, and providing regular updates to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Developer will play a key role in Greenvolt's expansion in Japan, leading the advancement of new developments, joint developments, and large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.

  • Responsible for building relationships with landowners and local communities, securing land, and obtaining various approvals and building permits. Identify and evaluate potential sites for solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects, taking into account resource availability, constraints, and relevant regulations.
  • Be familiar with Japan's regulations for solar PV and BESS (including CFD and FIP schemes) and stay up to date on the latest developments.
  • Manage various approval processes to ensure projects are construction-ready, and provide regular progress reports.
  • Conclude purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and permitting agreements with landowners to ensure project progress.
  • Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders such as landowners, local communities, and government agencies. Manage projects to achieve cost, budget, schedule, and contractual goals.
  • Manage approval processes for land use, development, environmental impact, and grid connection.
  • Work with relevant teams within Greenvolt to support the smooth execution of projects.
  • Research and evaluate relevant local political and urban planning regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in planning, scheduling, or engineering (electrical, energy technology, renewable energy systems, agriculture, etc.)
  • 4–6 years of experience developing renewable energy projects in the Japanese market (experience in solar power generation or BESS preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in licensing procedures
  • Experience handling land area records, land registry records, and various maps (cadastral maps, parcel maps, topographical maps, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of the equipment and technology used in large-scale solar power plants
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook
  • Japanese: Native level
  • Fluent communication skills (verbal and written) in English/Spanish
  • Responsible, flexible, patient, and able to travel domestically
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Standard driver's license
