We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our web-based applications and APIs. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to define test strategies, build robust automation frameworks, and maintain high-quality standards across releases. The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of manual testing expertise and automation proficiency, with hands-on experience in Playwright, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and a deep understanding of REST APIs and API testing.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright for web applications
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable test scripts using JavaScript and TypeScript
- Perform comprehensive manual testing including functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing
- Plan and execute API testing for RESTful services using appropriate tools and frameworks
- Validate API responses, payloads, error handling, and performance against specifications
- Collaborate with developers during the SDLC to identify test scenarios early and prevent defects
- Review product requirements, technical designs, and user stories to ensure test coverage
- Identify, log, and track defects clearly, working closely with engineering teams for timely resolution
- Contribute to test strategy, test planning, and test execution reports
- Continuously improve test automation coverage and testing processes
- Ensure quality best practices are followed across releases and environments
- Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to building strong QA standards within the team
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance across manual and automation testing
- Strong experience with Playwright for browser automation
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for writing automation frameworks and test scripts
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and extensive experience in API testing
- Strong fundamentals of manual testing methodologies, test case design, and execution
- Experience working with automation frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Good understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and agile methodologies
- Ability to analyze complex systems and identify edge cases and risk areas
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Good to Have
- Experience with performance or security testing
- Exposure to cloud-based applications or microservices architecture
- Prior experience in mentoring or leading QA initiatives
