Your main accountabilities will be to:

  • Work alongside Production Operatives to ensure quality is a pivotal part of daily tasks including sharing your expertise to improve their understanding of food safety and quality.
  • Monitor and educate production team members on the importance of technical paperwork and its correct completion.
  • Address and/ or escalate quality or food safety concerns immediately to the appropriate level.
  • Audit production processes to ensure packed product is always to the correct standard, thereby reducing waste and factory downtime.
  • Support the quality auditing process for both internal and external audits.
  • Work with the intake and process teams to ensure raw material meets the expected standards.
  • Audit and guide Production Team members to maintain high GMP Standards.
  • Audit against company and customer standards across the board.
  • Ensure food safety is always maintained.
  • Attend relevant POD meetings.
  • Area Lead for EDAR
  • Responsibility ensuring panel data is effectively communicated out to the business and ensuring corrective actions are being provided back in a timely manner
  • Complete weekly EDAR audit and any other scheduled internal audit
  • Make recommendations to the Technical Management to improve QA systems as appropriate
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and taste panels
  • Lead Production and Engineers with Incident controls
  • Complete fabrication audits as scheduled
  • Provide absence cover for Quality Team Leader as appropriate.

Activities and Resources

o   Follow relevant SOP’s and ensure relevant QP’s/ CCP’s are adhered to.

o   Ensure all company issued sampling and investigation testing regimes are carried out in a timely manner.

o   Report immediately to appropriate manager on incidents and situations potentially hazardous to health and safety of personnel and equipment that comes to your notice.

o   Perform internal audit as directed.

Requirements

    • Experience in quality assurance/quality control/ food safety/ environmental standards/ organics.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Working experience within a similar role and/or a food environment.
    • Awareness of the importance of food safety.
