About the role
This is a hands-on testing role focused on ensuring release readiness across web, mobile, APIs, data/analytics workflows, and integrations. You’ll work within a distributed engineering team and take ownership of test strategy, system documentation, and test case design.
As a Manual Test Engineer, you’ll plan and execute functional, regression, exploratory, cross-browser, and mobile tests; validate data outputs including analytics and AI-generated content; manage test data; log and triage defects; verify fixes; and contribute to overall release quality. To succeed, you’ll bring persistence, strong written English for high-signal defect reports, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and product teams across time zones.
Responsibilities
Own test strategy, test documentation, and the creation of test plans and regression suitesDerive detailed test cases from user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, and system architecturePlan and execute functional, regression, exploratory, cross-browser, and mobile testing across the Portal, APIs, mobile app, and Teams/Zoom integrationsTest analytics-driven and data-driven features, including validation of AI/ML-generated outputs displayed in the UIUse SQL to perform thorough data validation across relational datasets and backend workflowsConduct API testing using Postman or Insomnia to verify request/response flows, payloads, and error handlingManage and prepare test data to support repeatable, reliable validation scenariosLog, triage, and track defects in Jira, reproduce issues accurately, verify fixes, and ensure closurePerform accessibility testing using established practices and browser/mobile developer toolsApply security testing heuristics (OWASP) and basic performance testing principles during assessmentsContribute to release readiness by providing clear risk assessments, coverage status, and validation updatesCollaborate closely with UK and offshore engineering and product teams in a hybrid Agile environment
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)3–6 years of professional experience in manual QA for SaaS applications, ideally in regulated or enterprise environmentsProven ability to analyze requirements and create test cases, test plans, and regression suites from scratch—even when documentation is limitedHands-on experience testing web applications, mobile apps (iOS/Android), APIs, and integrationsStrong SQL skills for backend and relational data validationUnderstanding of high-level AI/ML conceptsLightweight automation experience for smoke/regression tests (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, TypeScript, Python)Experience with QA tools such as TestRail, BrowserStack, Charles Proxy, JiraExperience with analytics-driven features and validating data outputs in user interfacesHands-on experience with API testing using Postman or InsomniaWorking knowledge of browser and mobile developer tools for debugging and cross-platform validationPractical experience with accessibility testing and understanding of common accessibility standardsAwareness of security testing heuristics (OWASP) and ability to apply them to assess system resilienceUnderstanding of distributed cloud application behavior (AWS preferred)Experience working with customer personal data in GDPR-style environmentsStrong communication skills with the ability to produce clear, high-signal defect reports
