Job Summary

Sussex Centre Hemodialysis (located at 90 Burnhamthorpe Rd. West Mississauga Ontario) has been in the community for 30 years under the administration of the University Health Network. Patients are provided hemodialysis care in a positive and relaxed setting. Staff provide support in a continual teaching environment. 

Our philosophy is to encourage patients to develop independence and control over their disease and to assume responsibility for their treatment. We are in a non-hospital setting which promotes a greater sense of well being and self esteem. We believe that patients play a vital role in the learning process and as such will be treated as individuals with different needs and learning styles. We believe that research and change is essential for sustaining growth. We believe in the multidisciplinary approach and that communication and cooperation is essential to the attainment 

Qualifications

  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurse of Ontario
  • Completion of a BScN, MScN Preferred
  • CNeph completion or will complete within 2 years
  • Completion of Nephrology Nursing program or enrolled and completed within 2 years
  • A minimum of 5 years current clinical practice in hemodialysis is required
  • Possess clinical expertise and demonstrated exemplary clinical practice in hemodialysis nursing
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Works in within team and supports colleagues
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent priority setting and organizational skills
  • Ability to facilitate positive change in a high acuity and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide mentorship, coaching and guidance in a manner that is approachable and positive while considering a diverse team and skill set
  • Demonstrates awareness of and incorporates best practice and policies to guide clinical practice
