The Reliability Engineer is part of the Service Delivery Office (SDO) and is responsible for providing technical support to the organization in the life cycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing) of John Crane’s reliability projects across the region.  The Engineer consults with customers to identify needs to improve reliability performance and work alongside the business development team to develop aligned value propositions. The Engineer will manage the execution of each project, partnering with Contract Manager, on-site and local sales teams.

  • Leads Reliability Contracts feasibility studies and Implementation.
  • Develops, leads, or facilitates and provides consultation in the implementation of the asset reliability vision, strategy, and roadmap for wet sealed equipment.
  • Provides expert technical guidance to CREs in the application of reliability methodologies, including:  Reliability Analysis: Performing root cause analysis (RCA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA), fault tree analysis (FTA).
  • Coordinates with key internal stakeholders to setup up the infrastructure for a seal reliability program.
  • Leads the development of asset register and install base (mechanical sealed equipment + other JC products)
  • Data analysis for feasibility studies and project planning.
  • Provides data management support i.e. Service Max records, utilizing customer CMMS and records data.
  • Engages and influences key stakeholders from client leadership teams to technicians.
  • Develops proposals to address client reliability challenges, including method of work statements.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred. 
  • Recognized engineering qualifications or equivalent experience primarily working with rotating equipment.
  • CMRP or equivalent reliability certification is preferred.
  • At least 6 years of demonstrated experience in: Application of reliability methodologies including prioritization, RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCA, and reliability statistical analysis; Maintenance Management practices and systems, in asset intensive and high hazard industry sectors.
  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo). 
  • Preferred knowledge of Inventory Optimization, Condition Based Maintenance, ISO 14224, and ISO 55000.
  • Effective leadership, facilitation, influencing, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal business communications.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed to meet business demands.
  • Experience working in a diverse environment with a global company is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to US, Canada and Caribbean locations.
