About The Role

 
The Sales Operations Manager will be a key pillar of Solar Landscape’s Sales Operations function, supporting commercial growth by designing, executing, and continuously improving the processes, systems, analytics, and proposal and pricing infrastructure that power our sales organization. This role owns critical components of the company’s commercial operating model and is accountable for outcomes that materially impact growth, sales productivity, and commercial rigor.
 
Sitting within the Business Development organization, this role is highly cross-functional and execution-oriented, operating at the intersection of Technology, Legal, Operations, Finance, and Policy. The Sales Operations Manager will translate commercial strategy into scalable operating processes, ensure rigor in pipeline management, performance and commissions tracking, proposal development, pricing execution, and drive operational excellence across the sales lifecycle with clear accountability for results.
 
This role is ideal for a hands-on operator with strong analytical skills, a process-improvement mindset, and the ability to operationalize proposal, performance tracking, and broader commercial strategy in a fast-growing environment.
 
We are headquartered in Asbury Park, NJ with an office in New York, NY and are looking for the Sales Operations Manager to be in the NY / NJ metro area. We would like the Sales Operations Manager to come to either our NY or NJ office 3-4 days a week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization & Operational Excellence
  • Own and evolve core sales and commercial processes end-to-end to reduce cycle times, eliminate bottlenecks, and increase throughput
  • Design and implement standardized workflows, templates, and best practices to scale sales execution

  • CRM, Systems & Automation
  • Serve as the business owner for CRM and sales systems, with accountability for data quality, adoption, and usability
  • Lead process automation initiatives across pipeline management, pricing, approvals, and reporting to reduce manual work and improve data quality
  • Partner with internal technology teams to scope, prioritize, and implement system enhancements and integrations

  • Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement 
  • Own sales performance strategy and tracking across the funnel, including pipeline health, conversion rates, cycle times, and pricing outcomes
  • Lead annual and quarterly planning processes, including pipeline targets, pricing assumptions, capacity planning, and market prioritization
  • Leverage data to proactively identify trends, bottlenecks, and underperformance, and partner with Sales leadership to drive initiatives that improve sales productivity and execution quality

  • Proposal Automation & Optimization
  • Own and continuously improve the proposal development and approval process in partnership with Finance, Legal, Policy
  • Operationalize pricing strategy across markets and customer segments
  • Monitor proposal and pricing performance and deal-level outcomes, identifying trends, leakage, or opportunities for optimization

  • Sales Commissions Tracking & Operations
  • Own and operationalize the sales commission process, including commission calculations, validation, and coordination of payouts
  • Ensure commission plans are implemented accurately, transparently, and consistently, with clear documentation and controls

  • Team Management & Leadership
  • Manage and develop a team of Sales Operations analysts, with accountability for output quality, execution rigor, and delivery against business priorities
  • Set clear expectations, provide coaching, and build a high-performing Sales Operations team aligned with commercial objectives
  • Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Sales Ops, RevOps, Strategy, Business Operations, or Management Consulting
  • Experience in a scaling B2B environment, with demonstrated ownership of cross-functional initiatives and managing junior analysts is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
  • Proven experience designing, improving, and scaling operational processes
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms and MS Suite
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Ownership mindset with a bias toward execution and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and seniority levels
