The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the overall objectives of the department by applying appropriate accounting principles to transactions, reconciling, and analyzing accounts, maintaining appropriate accounting records, and supporting the business unit.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate processing of financial transactions
  • Prepare and maintain adequate support for all transactions and journal entries
  • Participate in monthly, quarter, and year end account close requirements
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts at month-end
  • Participate in compiling, analyzing and reporting financial information
  • Participate in the annual Physical inventory or Cycle Counting process
  • Assist with annual audit by external public accounting firm
  • Calculation and filing of sales and use taxes
  • Focus on continuous improvement of work with additional attention on reducing and eliminating waste
  • Special projects as needed

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively with a sense of urgency
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office/computer skills, especially Excel (pivot tables and look up functions)
  • Adherence to internal controls
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • ERP experience required – Epicor ERP a plus

  • Experience with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis
  • Coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, or auditing
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
