Overview
This role is responsible for accounting functions supporting both development activities and ongoing property operations. The Senior Accountant will also assist the Accounting Manager with additional projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Development AccountingPrepare, review, and post payables to ensure accuracy and timely processingRecord loan funding receiptsRecord entries related to asset transfers and land takedowns for vertical developmentCalculate and process development feesRecord earnest money depositsPrepare overhead capitalization entriesRecord capitalized lease-up losses for newly completed projectsUpdate development reports and maintain current cost projectionsReview project classifications (proposed, under development, abandoned, completed) and record necessary entriesPrepare construction loan drawsOperational AccountingPrepare, review, and post rent charges and payment receiptsCalculate and apply late fee chargesMaintain depreciation and amortization schedulesPrepare journal entries, receipts, and other recurring chargesPerform bank reconciliationsMonitor aged receivables and support collection effortsPrepare deferred rent schedules and set up recurring entriesPrepare and review month-end close reports including trial balance, income statement, general ledger, AP, AR, and budget variancesTrack and reconcile tenant security deposits and tenant improvement costsJoint Venture ReportingPrepare contribution requests as neededPrepare monthly joint venture reporting packages, including financials and variance explanationsSupport FunctionsAssist with annual business plan preparation and building-level operating budgetsSupport annual audit preparation and provide requested documentation to external auditors
