Senior Analytics Engineer
Want to help us help others? We’re hiring!
GoFundMe is the world’s most powerful community for good, dedicated to helping people help each other. By uniting individuals and nonprofits in one place, GoFundMe makes it easy and safe for people to ask for help and support causes—for themselves and each other. Together, our community has raised more than $40 billion since 2010.
Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Senior Analytics Engineer to join our newly created Analytics Engineering squad, part of the Data Platform team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the mindset, standards, and best practices of building data products that become trusted and strategic assets across the company.
We’re entering an exciting new stage: expanding our Analytics Engineering team within the Data Platform to strengthen both our analytical modeling layer and the data foundation that powers it. As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and building scalable, high-quality, high-performance data models; implementing trustworthy metrics; and unlocking data-driven decision-making through well-documented, production-grade analytical assets. In addition, you’ll extend your ownership earlier in the data pipeline, ensuring that data is properly cleaned, normalized, and ready for transformation in Snowflake. This means working closely with the Data Engineering team on the curated layer, typically in S3/Spark, before data reaches the warehouse. This is a cross-functional role that bridges data engineering and analytics, enabling consistent, reliable data from raw ingestion to semantic modeling.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates considered for this role will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Job
- Design and implement dimensional models and optimize data transformations in our data warehouse.
- Align with stakeholders and data partners to define and implement consistent metrics.
- Collaborate with data engineers on ingestion, cleaning, and normalization processes to ensure data quality before it reaches the warehouse.
- Contribute to the definition and automation of normalization standards (naming conventions, data types, schema consistency) across datasets.
- Build, test, and maintain scalable dbt pipelines to ensure quality, performance, and modularity.
- Manage CI/CD workflows in GitHub and dbt Cloud.
- Implement and monitor data observability and quality checks.
- Develop and maintain reliable metrics and semantic layers for consistent reporting.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation, standards, and naming conventions.
- Enable reporting and analytical capabilities through BI tools.
- Ensure scalability and performance while managing large data volumes.
- Contribute to data governance initiatives to ensure compliance, privacy, and data quality.
- Work in an agile environment, collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
You
- 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Analytics Engineering, BI Engineering, or data modeling roles.
- Strong experience designing robust data models (gold tables, semantic layers) to provide trusted organization-wide metrics.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt for building scalable and optimized data pipelines.
- Proven experience cleaning, normalizing, and preparing data pipelines within a data lake or warehouse environment (e.g., S3/Spark).
- Understanding of how raw and cleaned datasets evolve into normalized structures before analytical modeling
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of collaboration with engineering and business teams.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred
- Experience using GitHub for version control and collaborative workflows.
- Familiarity with Looker (LookML, Explores, Dashboards) and/or modern BI tools.
- Experience with data observability tools (e.g., Metaplane).
- Exposure to Hex.
- Experience with Spark, Glue, or Databricks for preprocessing and normalization tasks.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.
