In this role, you will design, build, and operate robust backend systems that power mission-critical applications for large-scale organizations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable, high-quality software solutions. The position emphasizes modern engineering practices, continuous delivery, and ownership of systems in production. Accountabilities:

Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define system requirements and design effective backend solutions.

Deliver high-quality software using modern agile practices such as pair programming, test-driven development, and continuous integration and deployment.

Build, automate, and maintain system infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

Own the systems you build by providing production support and ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.

Advocate for agile and engineering best practices within delivery teams and client organizations.

Mentor engineers and client team members, supporting skill development and knowledge sharing.

Contribute to continuous improvement of team delivery capabilities and engineering standards.

Requirements:

Extensive experience designing, developing, and operating enterprise-scale distributed backend systems.

Expert-level proficiency in at least one backend programming language and its associated ecosystem, with exposure to additional languages considered a strong advantage.

Strong hands-on experience with test-driven development and automated testing strategies.

Deep understanding of agile principles and the ability to apply them effectively across different delivery contexts.

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in remote and globally distributed teams.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset focused on shared outcomes rather than prescriptive solutions.

Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-based or containerized environments on platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
