Senior Construction Buyer (Oosterweel Project - Antwerpen)

As a Senior Construction Buyer, you will:

• Be in charge of the procurement plan for projects involving earthworks, demolitions, and civil works;
• Take off and schedule materials from drawings and specifications; 
• Collaborate with BESIX Group Procurement category managers to leverage optimal conditions for specific projects;
• Send out supplier tender inquiries and analyse the received responses;
• Source, select, and negotiate the best purchase packages considering quality, price, terms, delivery, and services with suppliers and contractors;
• Prepare purchase documents and issue orders in accordance with specifications;
• Assist construction sites with daily plant and materials requirements;
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery;
• Deal with site or supplier delivery and invoice queries;
• Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents in compliance with company policies and procedures;
• Report to the head of Purchasing of the Oosterweel Project. 

Qualifications

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or in Finance; 
• You have prior experience as a Construction Buyer, ideally with infrastructure projects;
• You have at least 2-5 year experience in the purchase of construction works; 
• You have good knowledge of materials used in groundworks;
• You have strong negotiation skills; 
• You have commercial sensitivity;
• You are open-minded and an active listener; 
• You are a team player and you have good communication skills;
• You have good knowledge of MS Office;
• You have a professional knowledge of Dutch and English.
• This is for a permanent contract!
