Senior Cost Accountant

Toshiba Global Commerce Solution is seeking Senior Cost Accountant that will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining cost accounting systems to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost reporting. This role performs key accounting activities including journal entries, inventory balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and support of annual physical inventory counts. The position prepares and distributes recurring inventory and cost reports and provides analytical support for special projects and the annual midterm business plan. 

Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager, the Senior Cost Accountant plays a critical role in inventory and cost management by overseeing inventory reporting, monitoring cost flows, and ensuring costs are properly aligned to underlying business activities. The position provides accurate and timely financial and operational data to support management decision making and overall business performance. 

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills, effective time management, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a focus on process consistency and continuous improvement across the cost accounting function. 

RESPONSIBILITY 

• Maintain cost accounting systems and support month‑end close, forecasting, and annual business planning activities in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain.
• Lead and manage all aspects of cost accounting activities, including standard cost development, cost roll-ups, variance analysis, and inventory valuation within Oracle and SAP ERP environments.
• Maintain and enhance product costing structures (BOMs, routings, work centers), ensuring accuracy and consistency across Oracle and SAP systems.
• Reconcile inventory balance sheet accounts, perform inventory analysis, and ensure accurate valuation in accordance with company policy.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for Oracle and SAP cost accounting modules, supporting system upgrades, integrations, and process enhancements.
• Prepare and distribute inventory and cost reports to management and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required & Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with five (5)+ or more years of related experience; cost accounting and/or manufacturing finance experience required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. 
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting systems, GAAP, and financial analysis; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 
• Experience preparing and analyzing recurring financial and operational reports. 
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint. 
• Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems preferred. 
• Strong communication and problem solving skills in a fast paced environment
