About the Role
We are looking for a highly strategic and experienced Senior Counsel
to join Bitdeer’s in-house legal team, based in Norway. Reporting directly to the General Counsel and US Lead Counsel, you will serve as a senior legal advisor for our European operations while supporting global initiatives. The ideal candidate brings sophisticated legal expertise from a top-tier law firm or a high-growth in-house environment and is capable of navigating complex regulatory landscapes and high-stakes negotiations independently.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Strategic Contract Management: You will lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, infrastructure contracts, and cross-border licensing deals, ensuring robust protection and alignment with Bitdeer’s global strategy.
- Regulatory & Compliance Leadership: You will conduct high-level legal research and provide actionable analysis on European and international regulations, including energy laws, data privacy (GDPR), and crypto-asset frameworks (MiCA).
- Corporate Governance & Entity Management: You will oversee corporate governance for our Norwegian and European entities, managing board resolutions, statutory filings, and ensuring full compliance with local corporate laws.
- Operational Oversight: You will streamline the contract management lifecycle across EMEA and North American regions, managing internal approval workflows, complex due diligence, and high-level stakeholder correspondence.
- Quality Leadership: You will maintain the highest standards of quality control for all legal outputs, ensuring that all documentation reflects the company’s sophisticated legal positioning and brand voice.
- Cross-Functional & External Liaison: You will act as a primary legal partner to executive leadership and cross-functional teams, while also managing relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies in Norway and beyond.
How You Will Stand Out
- Experience: At least 8+ years of experience as an attorney, with a significant portion spent in a reputable law firm or a senior in-house role (experience in the tech or energy sectors is a plus).
- Legal Expertise: Deep understanding of commercial law, litigation strategy, and the nuances of operating within a global corporate structure.
- Detail & Accuracy:Exceptional attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage complex projects with a high degree of precision.
- Leadership Mindset:A proactive, self-starting leader who can work autonomously in a remote/distributed environment while remaining a collaborative team player.
- Organizational Mastery:Superior time-management skills to navigate competing priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 global industry.
- Communication:Elite written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex legal risks into business-friendly advice.
- Integrity:A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive corporate information and strategic initiatives.
- Education: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited institution.
- Bar Admission:Admitted to practice law and in good standing with a recognized bar association (US State Bar or European equivalent).
- Technical Proficiency:Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with global legal entity management and CLM systems.
- Language Skills: Norwegian and English
