What We Do…

We’re people who love technology but know that hoteliers just want things to be simple. So since 2006 we’ve been constantly innovating our world-leading hotel commerce platform to help accommodation owners find and book more guests online - quickly and simply.

We’ve helped everyone from boutique hotels to big chains, enabling travellers to book igloos, cabins, castles, holiday parks, campsites, pubs, resorts, Airbnbs, and everything in between.

And today, we’re the world’s leading open hotel commerce platform, supporting 50,000 hotels in 150+ countries - with over 130 million reservations processed by SiteMinder’s technology every year.

About the Data Scientist role…

As a Senior Data Analyst (Advanced Analytics), you will be responsible for delivering deep, statistically rigorous insight into complex customer, channel, and product behaviours within SiteMinder’s Smart Distribution Program (SDP). The role is embedded day-to-day with the SDP team and works closely with the Director, providing analytical support on product performance, distribution outcomes, and strategic initiatives. Your primary focus will be on independent analytical investigation — understanding trends, identifying drivers, and translating evidence into clear, actionable recommendations that inform both product and commercial decisions. This role is centred on analytical depth, statistical judgment, and problem-solving rather than model production or routine reporting.

What you’ll do…

  • Independently own complex analytical investigations, translating loosely defined business questions into structured analyses and clear recommendations.

  • Apply rigorous statistical and analytical methods to understand trends, diagnose drivers of change, and assess the impact of decisions or initiatives.

  • Work confidently with large, distributed datasets, using SQL and cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g. Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake) to join, validate, and analyse data from multiple sources.

  • Define, validate, and interpret analytical metrics, ensuring clarity of definitions, assumptions, and limitations, and promoting consistent usage across teams.

  • Use analytical techniques such as segmentation, cohort analysis, funnel analysis, and time-series analysis to understand customer and channel behaviour; apply machine-assisted techniques (e.g. clustering or pattern discovery) where helpful for insight generation, without owning production ML models.

  • Communicate insights clearly and credibly, through written analyses, presentations, and selected dashboards or visualisations that support decision-making rather than simply reporting metrics.

What you have…

  • Strong experience in a Senior Data Analyst or equivalent role, with a track record of independently delivering statistically sound analysis in a data-rich environment.

  • Advanced analytical and statistical capability, including hypothesis testing, regression for interpretation, exploratory analysis, and comfort reasoning under uncertainty.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale, distributed data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery); familiarity with Spark/PySpark is preferred.

  • Ability to explain why outcomes change, not just what happened, and to turn analysis into clear recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to new analytical tools, techniques, and problem domains, with the curiosity and foundation to grow into more advanced analytical or data science capabilities as the role and business needs evolve.

  • Experience building clear, purposeful dashboards or visualisations using BI tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI), with emphasis on analytical clarity over reporting volume.

  • Familiarity with dimensional data modelling concepts (e.g. Kimball methodology, star schemas) from an analytics consumer perspective.

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and communicating complex analytical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
