JOB DESCRIPTION
Our Trends Platform team is responsible for the ingestion and processing of music and video streaming analytics data that brings insights across many DSPs together into a single analytics product. Our proprietary developed data processes, written in Kotlin and Java, annually process nearly 1 trillion lines of data and this number is growing by 50%+ year-on-year. We are reinventing large parts of our processes using open source and cloud native tools to meet the scaling demands for the next 20 years while expanding the width and depth of our analytics offering and addressing key factors such as cost management.
This Amsterdam-based role requires an experienced and versatile engineer that seamlessly switches between software development and data engineering. The work will involve data platform development, process orchestration, performance optimization and handling day-to-day matters as they arise. You will learn the music industry domain, work with Big Data and contribute to cornerstone projects that directly enable our business and our clients to make the most of their data.

WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED
A successful applicant for this role will have many of the following skills:
- A degree in Computer Science, Data/Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Professional Cloud Data Engineering Certification, preferably Google Cloud or Databricks
- Expert level SQL, including extensive experience with tools like Big Query/Databricks/Snowflake.
- Solid data modeling and analytical skills for data warehouse and data lake architectures
- DBT or similar experience is a big plus
- Deep knowledge of Apache Spark and Apache Airflow
- Proficient in Java/Kotlin and Python development
- Working with very large datasets
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
NICE TO HAVES
- Prior experience in the music industry concepts is a big plus.
