Role Overview:

This role focuses on designing, operating, and continuously improving cloud-native infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes and AWS. You will build and manage scalable, secure environments, implement infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines, and develop automation using Python, Bash, and Groovy to streamline delivery and operations. Working closely with engineering teams, you’ll ensure high availability through proactive monitoring, logging, security best practices, and ongoing optimization of systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration.
• Implement best practices for scaling, monitoring, and securing Kubernetes environments.
• Utilize cloud services, with a focus on AWS, to architect scalable and reliable solutions.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Jenkins.
• Establish and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and rollback.
• Work closely with development teams to optimize build and release processes.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using python, bash, and groovy to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate automated solutions into the development workflow.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and system optimizations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and system failures.
• Configure and manage centralized logging for tracking system behavior and debugging.
• Implement and enforce security best practices for infrastructure and applications.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and processes.

Requirements

• 7 years minimum experience in DevOps and/or System Infrastructure
• Experience with linux systems.
• Experience writing scripts using python, and bash
• Experience with a containerization platform, especially podman or docker
• Experience with orchestration using a Kubernetes flavor
• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines. Ansible or Jenkins a plus.
• Experience with clusters, especially in Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of network concepts.
• Experience with one of the major cloud providers, preferably AWS or IBM
• Experience with VMware ESXI.
• Familiarity with bare metal cloud concepts.
• Experience with one of the Cybersecurity Frameworks: (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or OWASP), preferably NIST CSF
• Knowledge of system architecture concepts
• Experience with Pentests
• Strong understanding of standardization and compliance concepts
• Familiarity with data privacy and asset management as well as some experience with secret management
• Experience with MLOps is a plus.
• Experience with monitoring tools.
• Basic understanding of DB and media storage concepts for optimization
• Fluency in English language
