The opportunity

Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase and we’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team! As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in running critical functions of the company and lead two teams of 6-7 engineers. While collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll deliver new features, reduce our technical debt, mentor the team and manage project delivery. We are looking for someone that can work market hours, starting at 6:30am Monday through Friday.

  • Collaborate with product management and design teams to understand business needs, growth objectives, and market dynamics
  • Create a culture of innovation and technical excellence, encouraging experimentation and exploring new opportunities for company growth
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, automation, tools, and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and quality
  • Provide strong leadership to the engineering team, enabling a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the engineering teams, holding individuals accountable for their deliverables

What you bring

  • Experience - 5+ years of experience working as Software Engineering Manager within a high performing Engineering organization, but flexible depending on experience
    • 8+ years of experience in software development and delivery owning a highly visible and large technical scope and an in-depth knowledge of software architectures
    • Experience in building and managing large scale software applications in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Education - Ideally looking for a B.A. / B.S. degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Technical aptitude - You’re technologically savvy and can easily get up to speed on modern tech stacks (we use Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, Postgres, Kafka, Kubernetes)
  • Ownership - The pride you put into every aspect of your work is unparalleled and undeniable

    • Experience designing platforms in the Fintech, banking, or trading domain
    • Experience working with complex data and creating data visualizations
San Francisco, CA salary range
$203,000$275,000 USD

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package, along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs) for eligible roles.
