Your Role: Key Accountabilities
End-to-End Legal Support for BAU Operations (MY and SG)
Support day-to-day legal matters relating to the Group’s logistics, cargo, and supply chain operations across Malaysia and Singapore and other countries (when needed), including transportation arrangements, warehouse and handling agreements, vendor and service provider contracts, and operational issues arising from ongoing business activities. Coordinate with external counsel on regional matters, regulatory filings, and transaction support.
Drafting, Review, Research & Negotiation of Agreements
Draft, review, and support negotiations of a range of legal documentation, including commercial and operational contracts, using approved templates, and identifying non-standard issues for escalation where appropriate.
Legal Advisory & Stakeholder Support
Provide practical legal support to business teams on operational, regulatory, compliance, licensing, dispute, and corporate matters. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to support timely and commercially aligned outcomes.
Governance, Reporting and Legal Operations Support
Support internal governance processes, including preparation and review of board materials, related-party transaction documentation, contract approval workflows, and legal checklists. Support legal operations initiatives to improve efficiency, visibility, and BAU execution.
Process Improvement & Knowledge Support
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of legal processes, including contract templates, CLM tools, SOPs, and legal trackers. Assist in preparing legal updates, guidance notes, and training materials to improve legal awareness across the organisation.
Special Projects & Legal Team Support
Support the General Counsel and Legal Manager on special projects, cross-functional initiatives, and corporate or regulatory exercises, including fundraising, restructuring, or expansion into new markets.
Stakeholder & External Counsel Coordination
Support business teams by responding to routine legal queries and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counsel to facilitate timely resolution of BAU legal and operational matters.
Requirements
- Law degree from a recognised institution and called to the Bar (Malaysia or Singapore any equivalent common law jurisdiction).
- 4 - 7 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in private practice, preferably with exposure to logistics, corporate transactions, and/or intellectual property matters.
- Prior exposure to IPO preparation, fundraising, regulatory engagement, or large-scale corporate projects will be an advantage.
- Strong transactional and commercial legal experience, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements in a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional setting.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with comfort operating in ambiguity and managing competing priorities.
- Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset, able to work independently, initiate projects, and drive matters to completion with minimal supervision.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, business teams, and external advisors across multiple geographies.
- Experience handling fast-moving and high-pressure issues, with sound judgment and the ability to respond pragmatically and decisively.
Who Should Not Apply
- If you’re looking for a comfortable, low-intensity role, this is not it.
- If you struggle with direct stakeholders, fast decisions, or pressure, you will find this challenging.
- If you need perfect structure before you can operate, a startup environment will frustrate you — we are building the structure as we scale
- If personal growth, ownership, and accountability are not priorities for you, this role will not be a good fit.
- If you tend to take feedback or disagreements personally rather than professionally, this environment may feel tough.
