Requisition #: 1255 Job Title: Senior Full-Stack Software Developer - Ansible Automation Location: Remote   Required Certification(s):  ·         Security+ SUMMARY We’re seeking a versatile Senior Software Developer to help advance our automation-driven compliance platform — a full-stack web application delivered as a hardened RHEL 8/9 appliance and deployed across on-premises and AWS environments. You’ll contribute to both the product’s Python-based back-end and the Ansible playbooks and collections that power its automation. This role offers hands-on experience across the SDLC, including feature development, CI/CD optimization, and automated build pipelines. Ideal candidates thrive in Linux environments and enjoy solving complex problems within a small, collaborative team. The Senior Software Developer will play a key role in the design, development, and automation of our RHEL-based compliance platform. This position combines hands-on software engineering with infrastructure automation to deliver a secure, scalable web application deployed both on-premises and in cloud environments.  Working within a lean, collaborative team, the developer will contribute to the platform’s Python backend, RESTful APIs, and Ansible collections that form the core of its business logic. The role will also support the automation of build pipelines, testing environments, and system deployments across multiple platforms.  This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to work across the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation to testing, delivery, and maintenance. The developer will help shape both product functionality and the underlying automation that drives efficient, reliable releases. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ·         Develop, maintain, and enhance the application’s backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI. ·         Write and maintain Ansible playbooks and collections that drive the platform’s automation logic. ·         Support build, test, and deployment pipelines for RHEL-based appliances and cloud deployments. ·         Collaborate with team members to design, implement, and review new features and integrations. ·         Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the stack, including web, database, and automation layers. ·         Contribute to continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes and related tooling. ·         Participate in code reviews and uphold best practices for quality, security, and maintainability. ·         Assist with packaging and versioning of application releases for on-premises and cloud environments. ·         Document code, configuration, and automation workflows to support reproducibility and compliance. ·         Engage in agile sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-team collaboration to deliver product goals. QUALIFICATIONS Required Certifications ·         Security+ Education, Background, and Years of Experience ·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. ·         5-7 years of professional experience in software development, automation, or DevOps engineering. ·         Strong proficiency with Python and experience developing or maintaining web applications (FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks). ·         Hands-on experience writing Ansible playbooks or developing Ansible collections. ·         Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL 8/9 preferred), system administration concepts, and automation pipelines. ·         Familiarity with containerization, virtualization, or image-based deployments (e.g., Docker, VMware, AWS AMI). ·         Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD tools, and collaborative development workflows. ·         Exposure to frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar) is a plus but not required. ·         Security or compliance background (e.g., STIGs, hardening, or configuration management) is highly desirable. ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills ·         Proficiency in Python with experience building and maintaining backend services or APIs. ·         Strong understanding of Linux environments, particularly RHEL 8/9 systems. ·         Hands-on experience with Ansible, including authoring playbooks, roles, or collections. ·         Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows (e.g., GitHub, GitLab). ·         Understanding of CI/CD processes and automation best practices. ·         Ability to troubleshoot complex systems across multiple layers (application, OS, and automation). ·         Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. ·         Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a small, cross-functional team. ·         Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills ·         Knowledge of frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, or modern JavaScript build tools. ·         Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, including schema design and query optimization. ·         Background in virtualization or cloud infrastructure, such as VMware vSphere, Proxmox, or AWS (EC2/AMI). ·         Awareness of security configuration and compliance frameworks (e.g., DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, NIST).
