Position Summary:
The Senior IT Field Service Engineer is a hands-on, customer-facing technical professional responsible for delivering onsite IT support, infrastructure services, and advanced troubleshooting for commercial clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience who thrives in dynamic environments, supports multiple client sites, and serves as a trusted technical resource. This position features a combination of remote work and local Dc Metro area travel.
Responsibilities:
Provide advanced onsite and remote technical support for commercial clients across multiple locationsInstall, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, network devices, and peripheralsSupport Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and Azure ADDiagnose and resolve complex issues related to networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, switches, wireless)Perform system upgrades, migrations, patching, and hardware refresh projectsServe as an escalation point for Tier II/III issues and mentor junior field engineersDocument configurations, procedures, and resolutions in ticketing and documentation systemsWork closely with internal service desk, project teams, and account managers to ensure SLA complianceMaintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction during onsite engagementsParticipate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed
