Nebius Managed Kubernetes (mk8s) exists to give customers seamless access to the Nebius platform through the Kubernetes API—ensuring their AI workloads run fast, reliably, and with minimal operational overhead.
In this role, you will lead the mk8s Core Team, one of three sub-teams within mk8s, responsible for the service’s core backend, key platform integrations, and mission-critical add-ons.
At Nebius, team leaders are hands-on by design. We’re looking for someone who is currently a senior or staff-level engineer (or has been in the past) and is comfortable diving deep into complex systems. You will begin as an individual contributor to build context and technical ownership and then transition into leadership responsibilities as you ramp up.
In this position, you will be responsible to:
- Lead by example. Set the technical quality bar by spending a meaningful portion of your time on IC-level work—writing and reviewing code, driving complex projects, participating in the on-call rotation, and contributing to incident response and post-incident analysis.
- Lead a group of 4–8 mid- to senior-level engineers. Provide clarity and context, coach them toward growth, and deliver timely, constructive feedback.
- Own the technical vision by defining, maintaining, and driving the technical strategy for the areas under your responsibility, ensuring alignment with broader platform and organizational goals.
- Work closely with the Product Manager and Service Owner to shape the product vision, build roadmaps, and align execution with customer and business needs.
What you will bring to the table:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering or management experience
- Excellent knowledge of Golang, or you are ready to quickly switch to this programming language
- Expertise with
- Multi-month technical projects
- Tech leading engineers
- Running and owning what you build

- Experience with Team management, Kubernetes administration, Developing Kubernetes controllers
