Senior Legal Counsel, Tieto Banktech (m/f/d)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our commercial legal team at Tieto Banktech. In this role, you will act as a trusted legal advisor to our business units, providing comprehensive legal support across our banking technology operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including software licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, implementation agreements, professional services contracts, and partnership agreements.
• Lead complex contract negotiations with customers, vendors, and partners across multiple jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks for handling contract risks.
• Provide strategic legal advice to business stakeholders on day-to-day commercial matters.
• Partner with sales, product, and delivery teams to structure deals that balance business objectives with legal risk management.
• Manage and resolve disputes, working with internal stakeholders and external counsel as needed.
• Develop and deliver legal training for business teams on topics such as contract fundamentals and risk management.

Qualifications

• Law degree and qualified to practice law in Norway.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant legal experience from reputable law firm or in-house legal department preferably in the technology or financial sectors.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
• Experience with banking technology or financial regulatory framework.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and matrix organizations.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
