About the Team:
Always on top of what’s hot in the fashion industry, the members of our Merchandising team ensure we have the right products in the right places at the right time. With their exceptional taste and expert analytical skills, they work closely with cross-functional teams like Digital Commerce and Production to manage inventory and delight our customers with the products they want—and the ones they don’t yet know they want but must have.
About the Role:
As the Senior Merchant for Women’s Footwear, you will lead the strategy and execution of Rothy’s product assortment for one of our most important categories. You will shape seasonal product lines from concept to commercialization, ensuring assortments reflect our brand aesthetic while meeting financial and growth goals. This role requires strong partnership across Design, Product Development, Planning, and Production to bring innovative, high-quality footwear to market while optimizing margin, inventory, and consumer demand.
What you’ll do:
Lead the Women’s Footwear product assortment strategy by influencing decisions across the entire product lifecycle—from early design concept through development, line architecture, and commercialization
Partner closely with Design and Product Development teams to create compelling seasonal footwear collections, ensuring assortments balance innovation, core styles, and commercial viability
Collaborate cross-functionally with Production partners to execute against cost and margin targets while maintaining the highest standards of Rothy’s product quality
Work with Merchandise Planning to build strategies that maximize key areas of the business each season while optimizing our nimble supply chain to drive sales and mitigate risk of overproduction
Analyze sales performance, consumer insights, and market trends to inform future assortment strategies and identify opportunities for product innovation
Partner with Retail Merchandising to create balanced assortments for brick-and-mortar stores, ensuring the right mix of core, seasonal, and newness across locations
Identify macro and footwear-specific trends across the market—from runway and fashion media to everyday and aspirational brands—and translate those insights into relevant opportunities for Rothy’s customer
Contribute to category growth strategy and help guide seasonal priorities through strong cross-functional alignment and communication
You are:
An entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys working collaboratively across teams
Financially savvy with strong merchant math skills and a deep understanding of how product decisions impact business performance
Highly aligned with, and knowledgeable about, Rothy’s brand aesthetic and customer
Naturally curious, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership and accountability for your work and decisions
Analytical and solution-oriented, with a passion for using data and insights to solve problems and improve outcomes
You have:
5+ years of merchandising or buying experience, with footwear experience strongly preferred
Strong proficiency with analytical tools and reporting used to inform assortment planning, buys, and forecasting in partnership with Merchandise Planning
A solid understanding of the open-to-buy process and how to manage assortments to achieve financial plans and inventory targets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present insights, strategies, and recommendations
Proven ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners and peers to drive alignment and results

$98,000- $118,000 annually
Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
