About the Role:
Wing is looking for a Senior Planning Manager to join our Forward Logistics team based in Palo Alto, CA. This role is hybrid based in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate is passionate about developing inventory allocation and replenishment strategies, ensuring seamless product availability globally. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, tactical execution, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute end-to-end Supply-Demand plans across all channels of distribution.
- Allocate inventory among different sites and distribution centers, ensuring each location is equipped with the correct stock levels.
- Implement safety stock and replenishment strategies to prevent individual sites from running out of stock.
- Monitor inventory, assess risk, and develop mitigation plans to resolve supply disruptions.
- Coordinate with Sourcing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Fleet, Go-to-Market, Engineering, Marketing, and Regional Operations teams to ensure supply plans support demand.
- Effectively communicate Supply-Demand strategies and inventory status to senior and executive stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities and lead projects to improve planning processes, tools, and systems.
- Collaborate with Reverse Logistics on repair and refurbishment scheduling to integrate recovered assets back into the available supply plan.
- Develop, track, and report on key planning KPIs, including Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), Forecast Bias, On-Time-In-Full (OTIF), Inventory Turns, and Days of Supply (DOS).
- Partner with Finance to model and present the business impact of various supply scenarios, including long-range capacity and inventory investment decisions.
- Define business requirements for the development and automation of planning tools and systems to improve forecast quality and reduce manual effort.
What You’ll Need:
- 8+ years of experience in supply planning, demand planning, allocation, inventory management, or a related operational role.
- 2+ years of proven experience directly managing people or managing a geographically dispersed team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven success in building, implementing, and scaling new planning processes and systems within a high-growth or ambiguous operational environment.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices in inventory planning, mulit-site inventory allocation, cost avoidance, and predictive analytics.Strong analytic skills, proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Expertise with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Advanced Planning Systems (APS), including data modeling and configuration.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a fast-paced and scaling operational environment with highly cross-functional teams, including but not limited to planning for launches in a global environment.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed up to 30%.
