The Senior Product Designer is part of the Product Design Team’s collective quest to connect our customers with the insight they need, and the tools required to mitigate their sustainability, environmental and global reputational risk. In this role, you will proudly demonstrate your unwavering drive, and curiosity to understand what makes our end-users tick. You connect the dots between business needs, technological constraints and user needs with little effort. You demonstrate a high aptitude and appreciation for good visual design, but what really motivates you are the cross-team, cross-functional activities that reframe, refine, question, diverge, study, monitor, measure, converge and ultimately uncover problems, solutions and outcomes!
The Senior Product Designer will be part of a decentralized team, embedded with one or more product teams dedicated to a specific customer experience area. With your product team you will drive and impart your superb design influence alongside your product manager and technical lead partners.
Key Requirements & Responsibilities
- Dig deep into understanding your users needs and goals, aiming to be an acknowledged expert for your product team, and share that deep user understanding with your peers;
- Develop a strong understanding of your product teams user experiences, but also extend that knowledge to the products and experiences owned by other teams;
- Strive for an intimate understanding of our competitive landscape, and the suite of products and offerings at Assent;
- Understand the various dimensions of Assent, from marketing, sales and finance, to professional services consulting, legal and regulatory;
- Drive and lead research initiatives;
- Validate and evaluate design decisions;
- Plan and administer the appropriate method of usability evaluation in any given project (eg. moderated/unmoderated, remote/in-house, expert reviews, A/B testing);
Evolve and champion how the product design team measures and tracks the user experience across our products and our services;
Pair metrics with qualitative data to understand user behavior behind the numbers;
Be familiar with corporate security policies and follow the guidance set out by processes and procedures of Assent.

Qualifications
We strongly value your talent, energy and passion. It will also be valuable to Assent if you have the following qualifications
10+ years of designing applications, with a proven track record of experiences across a variety of platforms and a portfolio of work that demonstrates outstanding breadth and quality;
Bachelor's Degree in Design, Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent professional experience;
Impeccable oral and written communication skills in English, that consider clarity, brevity and tact in every interaction;
Deep technical background with the ability to quickly understand and articulate interactions in a technical environment. Knowledge of UI development languages and tools would be considered an asset;
A demonstrated ability and expertise in UI design and research methodologies;
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to digest, and quickly comprehend complex systems and iterate on ways to improve them;
An experimental, but decisive mind that can make data- and evidence-based decisions with confidence;
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including engineers and product managers;
Someone who loves storytelling, and leverages strategic methods to influence various stakeholders and find common ground, including writing user stories that communicate the what and the why;
Passion and skill for diving into the unknowns of continuous discovery, distilling the business needs, the root of customer feedback, and the impact of improvements, focusing on value, quality and scalability;
You have grit - you are conscientious, driven, and will always work towards providing solutions over excuses;
You are open to feedback, coachable and are always striving to self-improve.
