Vectra AI is seeking a skilled Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for our Platform Appliances and Metadata, a foundational layer of the Vectra Network Detection and Response (NDR) portfolio. This role is responsible for defining the roadmap and long-term vision for hardware, virtual, and cloud-based appliances, as well as the metadata parsing and generation capabilities that power Vectra’s detections and analytics.

In this role, you will operate at the intersection of network data planes, performance-sensitive systems, and signal generation, ensuring Vectra’s sensors and appliances deliver reliable, high-fidelity metadata at scale across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Austin and Bangalore to evolve core platform capabilities that underpin the entire product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the product strategy and roadmap for Vectra’s appliance portfolio, including physical hardware, virtual appliances, and cloud-native sensors.
  • Define requirements and priorities for metadata parsing, enrichment, normalization, and generation on the network data plane.
  • Balance performance, scale, reliability, and cost considerations across appliance form factors and deployment models.
  • Partner closely with engineering, data science, security research, and UX teams to manage the product backlog, resolve architectural and design challenges, and deliver high-quality platform releases.
  • Drive alignment between appliance capabilities and downstream consumers of metadata, including detection engines, analytics, and user-facing experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize deployment, lifecycle management, upgrades, and observability of appliances across customer environments.
  • Serve as a product champion with customers, partners, and field teams—translating real-world deployment feedback into actionable roadmap decisions.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise product management, with a strong record of delivering platform or infrastructure products.
  • Experience building, managing, or delivering network appliances, sensors, or data-plane technologies in enterprise, virtual, or cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of network traffic analysis, packet processing, flow generation, and metadata pipelines.
  • Experience defining roadmaps that span hardware, virtualized, and cloud-native deployment models.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, security research, and operations teams on complex, performance-sensitive systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make tradeoffs between fidelity, scale, and operational simplicity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of aligning diverse stakeholders around technical and product strategy.
  • Demonstrated success driving products from concept through adoption in globally distributed teams.

Nice to Have / Bonus

  • Familiarity with high-performance networking, packet capture frameworks, or kernel-level networking.
  • Experience with cloud networking constructs (e.g., VPC traffic mirroring, cloud-native sensors).
  • Background in security analytics, NDR, or large-scale data platforms.
  • Technical background in software development or systems engineering.
