Must-have Skills

Product Design (UX/UI)

• Conducting basic user research and translating insights into wireframes, flows, and prototypes.
• Designing in Figma (or equivalent), with strong attention to usability and accessibility.
• Creating and maintaining design systems and reusable components.
• Working iteratively based on feedback and product metrics.

UI Engineering (Frontend)

• Writing clean, semantic HTML/CSS and modular JavaScript.
• Building interfaces using React (or similar frameworks like Vue/Svelte).
• Implementing design systems in code (e.g., using Tailwind, styled-components, or CSS Modules).
• Ensuring responsive, accessible (a11y), and cross-browser compatible UIs.
• Familiarity with Git and basic dev workflows.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

• Implementing technical SEO best practices: meta tags, schema, robots.txt, canonical URLs, etc.
• Using semantic HTML to support both accessibility and search discoverability.
• Understanding Core Web Vitals and optimizing for performance (using Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights).
• Collaborating on content structure, internal linking, and user journeys from search.

Nice-to-have:

• AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows. 
• Experience with headless CMS or static site generators (e.g. Next.js, Astro, Sanity).
• Familiarity with web analytics (Google Analytics, Search Console).
• Some background in content strategy or marketing.
• A strong design portfolio and live examples of web projects you've built and optimized.
