As an RF Electronics Engineer on the Space team, you will be responsible for owning the design, manufacture, test, and deployment of highly integrated RF devices used by a large number of space customers. You will work with a small team of software, hardware, and FPGA engineers to shepherd the product from initial design to vehicle integration, taking a full-stack approach to building robust space communications systems.

Perform trades and analysis on board and system architecture and component selectionBringup and test of new designsCoordinate with digital electronics engineers to bridge analog and digital domainsDesign for performance under space-grade acceptance, qualification, and compliance requirements, and build test plans for acceptance and qualification campaignsWork with mechanical engineers to ensure proper thermal dissipation of the deviceWork with supply chain counterparts to enable rapid manufacture and iteration of devicesTroubleshoot new RF PCBAsTest and validate RF performance metrics in new designs
Required Skills
Robust experience designing circuitry in microwave bands across the entirety of the RF data conversion and frontend chainsDemonstrable experience with the end-to-end PCB design process, including schematic capture, layout, fabrication and assembly Experience with electronic design and analysis tools such as Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, and Altium DesignerExcellent understanding of RF metrics such as S-parameters, P1dB, noise figure, channel power, and EVMStrong experience with design and analysis of RF cascades, link budgets, and noise analysisExperience with test instruments (oscilloscopes, power supplies, VNAs, spectrum analyzers) Experience with low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, mixers, ADCs/DACs, phased locked loops, oscillators, filters

Experience building complex PCBs in Altium DesignerExperience selecting components for radiation-susceptible environmentsExperience working with AD9361, Xilinx RFSoC, and similar digital-analog conversion interfacesSolid experience soldering and reworking boards (0402 SMP components, QFN packages)Experience performing communications link modeling and solid understanding of DSP fundamentalsKnowledge of antenna design, simulation, and measurement in near-field/far-field regimesExperience working with high-PAPR signals and knowledge of DPD concepts
