We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer with deep expertise in API automation testing using RestAssured. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks for backend services, ensuring product quality across complex distributed systems. You’ll work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to drive automation-first testing practices and help scale continuous quality across multiple projects.

Qualifications we are looking for:
- 7–10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 5+ years in test automation.
- Proven experience automating API testing using RestAssured.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, and API schemas.
- Hands-on experience with building or maintaining automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in test management (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and experience integrating automated tests into pipelines.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to contract testing tools (e.g., Pact) or performance testing (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Serenity).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Job duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for RESTful APIs using RestAssured.
- Create and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across backend services and APIs.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Partner with development teams to understand system logic and ensure early defect detection.
- Perform API validation, data integrity, and performance checks.
- Identify root causes of test failures and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve them.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices.
