Poshmark, a prominent social marketplace, seeks an Senior Software Engineer for Core Infrastructure to spearhead the expansion of our Core Platform, engagement and personalization initiatives. As a key player, you'll manage a high-traffic, rapidly growing platform, leveraging cloud-based technologies to accommodate our dynamic user base.
Responsibilities:
Develop applications and service delivery platforms on a distributed cloud architecture, utilizing NoSQL, Queueing technologies, and Search infrastructure.
Design and implement new product features with a data-oriented approach.
Enhance core components of the Poshmark product and cloud platform for seamless e-commerce transactions.
Collaborate closely with SRE and platform teams to impact business growth directly.
6-Month Goals:
Familiarize yourself with Poshmark's codebase and infrastructure.
Contribute to feature development through quality, testable code.
Establish effective collaboration within the team and across departments.
12+ Month Goals:
Independently drive feature development.
Propose ideas/changes to enhance the code base.
Requirements:
Strong computer science foundation with expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
Over 4 years of relevant software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Ruby/Java, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Cloud providers (AWS etc..).
Designing and developing microservices.
Experience creating web-based APIs and REST APIs.
Understanding of scalability and performance issues across application tiers.
Bonus: Experience with NoSQL data solutions.
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related discipline.
