At Databricks, we’re on a mission to help data teams solve the world’s toughest problems from cybersecurity to genomics, from retail optimization to climate modeling. As a Senior Technical Instructor on our Learning and Enablement team, you’ll empower our internal teams, partners, and customers with the skills to harness the full power of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. In this role, you’ll design and lead dynamic, hands-on learning experiences that meet diverse technical skill levels and learning styles, whether in a virtual classroom or live, in-person session. In this role, you’ll continuously assess and refine program effectiveness through feedback and performance data, ensuring our training evolves alongside Databricks’ rapidly advancing technology and industry best practices. You’ll also play a key role in onboarding and enabling newly hired Bricksters within the Field Engineering organization, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to deliver impact from day one.
The impact you will have:
- Deliver engaging technical training across Databricks products and services to internal teams, partners, and customers.
- Collaborate with Field Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to identify learning needs and tailor programs that drive measurable outcomes.
- Continuously evolve training content to reflect the latest Databricks capabilities, releases, and industry best practices.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and learner success metrics, iterating for continuous improvement.
- Support enablement for new Bricksters joining the Field Engineering organization, helping accelerate their ramp-up and technical readiness.
- Contribute to the development of scalable learning assets — including self-paced modules, labs, and train-the-trainer programs.
- Mentor Databricks Certified Instructors and facilitate train-the-trainer sessions to extend your expertise across regions.
- Stay current with data engineering, AI, and cloud technologies to ensure every learning experience reflects thought leadership and innovation.
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Machine Learning or AI focus preferred), plus 5+ years of relevant technical or instructional experience.
- Databricks Data Engineer Associate or Databricks Machine Learning Associate certification is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Databricks products, tools, and platform architecture.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, and a solid grounding in data engineering, machine learning, and AI concepts.
- Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proven success designing and delivering impactful technical training in enablement, field engineering, or pre-sales settings.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills that make complex topics engaging and accessible.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple programs, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- A collaborative, curious mindset and a passion for learning and teaching cutting-edge technologies.
