Senior Test Tooling Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Senior Release Engineer to take ownership of our release infrastructure and processes across our core products: TimescaleDB, Toolkit, Data Tiering, and Tiger Lake. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind transforming our CI/CD pipelines and release workflows into seamless, automated operations while building robust testing and benchmarking infrastructure that ensures product quality at scale.

What you'll be responsible for:

CI/CD Ownership

• Own and evolve our CI/CD infrastructure across TimescaleDB, Toolkit, Data Tiering, and Tiger Lake built with GithUb Actions.

• Take full ownership of the release process with a focus on automation and making releases a no-op.

• Drive the packaging process.

Testing & Quality Infrastructure

• Extend and maintain a comprehensive testing infrastructure to validate TimescaleDB performance and compatibility against Cloud environments.

• Design and implement stress testing infrastructure from the ground up. Execute stress tests, analyze results, and own the signals—feeding regression insights back to engineering teams.

• Take ownership of our benchmarking framework and elevate it to the next level of sophistication and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven track record as a Senior Release Engineer, QA Lead, or similar role with end-to-end ownership of release processes

• Deep expertise with GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD practices

• Strong Python skills for building automation, tooling, and infrastructure

• Hands-on experience operating PostgreSQL in production environments

Nice to Have:

• You have experience with TimescaleDB

• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes

• Regressions are caught early through robust stress testing and benchmarking

• Clear metrics and signals drive continuous improvement across the engineering organization

• Established close collaboration with the platform team to ensure smooth delivery
