Seeking a cleared ServiceNow ITOM Developer/CMDB Engineer with an active Secret government clearance, or higher.

Salary: 140-170K

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on development, customization, and maintenance of ServiceNow ITOM modules (Discovery, Event Management, Orchestration, Service Mapping) within a secure federal on-prem/air-gapped environment.
  • Design, build, and enhance Discovery probes and sensors using JavaScript, PowerShell, and Python, including custom probes for segmented or restricted networks.
  • Develop and manage MID Server customizations, secure credential handling, certificate/key rotation, and deployment patterns (bastion/proxy).
  • Implement Event Management capabilities including event transforms, correlation rules, alert enrichment scripts, and noise-reduction logic.
  • Architect and implement Orchestration workflows and Flow Designer actions for automated remediation, provisioning, and lifecycle tasks.
  • Build and extend Service Mapping patterns and programmatic mapping logic; create verification harnesses for dependency models.
  • Integrate ITOM components with external systems via REST/SOAP, message brokers, syslog, and SFTP using resilient retry and queuing logic.
  • Implement CI identification, reconciliation, and normalization logic to maintain consistent CI identity across federated sources.
  • Develop CMDB ingestion pipelines (scripted imports, transform maps/scripts, scheduled imports, validation routines).
  • Define CMDB data model extensions (CI classes, attributes, relationships, lifecycle states, ownership models).
  • Create and enforce reconciliation policies, identification rules, and normalization logic to maintain authoritative data.
  • Build automated CI health scoring, certification workflows, data-quality rules, and remediation playbooks.
  • Integrate CMDB with monitoring, asset management, vulnerability scanning, and change management systems.
  • Optimize ITOM performance, tune discovery schedules, profile probes, and scale MID Server architectures.
  • Apply secure development practices (encryption, credential storage, RBAC, dependency scanning) aligned with federal baselines.
  • Establish automated testing and CI/CD practices for ITOM artifacts consistent with federal change management.
  • Troubleshoot complex discovery, ingestion, orchestration, and CMDB issues using logs, debug probes, and instrumentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive developer documentation including code comments, API specs, scripts, test cases, diagrams, and runbooks.
  • Conduct routine CMDB audits, gap analyses, compliance checks, and implement remediation plans aligned with federal accreditation requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced development experience with ServiceNow ITOM modules (Discovery, Event Management, Orchestration, Service Mapping).
  • Strong scripting proficiency in JavaScript, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Experience building and customizing MID Servers in secure, segmented, or air‑gapped environments.
  • Hands-on experience implementing CI identification, reconciliation, and normalization logic.
  • Deep understanding of CMDB data models, ingestion pipelines, and data quality governance.
  • Experience with integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP, syslog, message queues, and SFTP.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure components (servers, networks, cloud, databases) relevant to discovery and service mapping.
  • Familiarity with secure development practices, RBAC models, encryption, and federal security compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Agile, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow development.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across ITOM, CMDB, integrations, and orchestration components.
