Software Engineer II - Data Services

We are looking for passionate software engineers to join our Data Engineering team at Blueshift. In this role, we are seeking a Data Services Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience to support client onboarding, data migrations, and integration projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise across modern programming frameworks, proven problem-solving abilities, and the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage data migration, conversion, and integration processes to onboard clients onto the Blueshift platform
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, success engineering, and product teams to design, implement, and deliver scalable solutions
  • Work with structured and unstructured data formats (CSV, JSON, XML, flat files) to enable seamless ingestion into the platform
  • Configure, validate, and fine-tune systems to align with client requirements, ensuring accuracy, quality, and reliability of data
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions
  • Develop and enhance automation workflows using Python, Ruby on Rails, and Airflow
  • Leverage SQL and AWS Athena for querying and analyzing large-scale datasets
  • Partner with internal teams to drive operational efficiency, while maintaining a customer-centric approach during onboarding and implementation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering, data services, or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in Python and Ruby on Rails for scripting, automation, and data-driven application development
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • Strong SQL expertise; experience with AWS Athena and relational database concepts
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases and large-scale data environments is desirable
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data transformation tools/techniques (Excel, SQL, custom scripts)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex data challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams
