Poshmark is seeking a Android Intern who will be working on our rapidly growing multiplatform social fashion marketplace and working on developing new user experiences, solving difficult problems and creating delightful solutions to improve user experiences. The role will be dynamic and varied, requiring a versatile self-starter willing to dive into multiple initiatives. Over the duration the intern can expect to become deeply involved in learning the tech stack, implementing new technologies, standards and best practices for software development that may run in production.
Our goal is to give you exposure to a range of development techniques and current technologies, through the experience of applying them to the multi-platform social marketplace dynamics.
This role will provide an excellent opportunity to implement code that may run in production, at scale. While having the opportunity to work with a talented team to rapidly roll out changes and measure their impact, while being mentored and guided.

Work with the product and design team to understand and iterate on feature requirements.

Desired Skills & Experience:
Strong foundation in computer science principles, data structures, algorithms, and mobile software design.
Basic experience with Android development using Kotlin and Java.
Familiarity with Android Studio, common software design patterns (MVVM, MVC, MVP), and activity/fragment management.
Knowledge of RESTful web services and integrating them into mobile applications.
Understanding of version control systems such as Git.
Exposure to Android lifecycle management, dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Dagger), and Kotlin coroutines.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to technical discussions.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
Experience developing Android apps (preferably apps released in the Play Store).
Familiarity with general SQL queries and database normalization techniques.
Knowledge of unit testing and test-driven development (TDD).
