Software Engineer Team Lead

This role is based in Perth, WA. We’re currently considering candidates who are already located in (or relocating to) Perth.

💼 The Role

We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead a team of up to 6 engineers You’ll help set the technical direction, guide system architecture, and drive the delivery of complex features on our SaaS platform whilst still having the opportunity to get your hands dirty with coding.

This role is a perfect opportunity for a Senior Engineer who loves to lead a team but does not want to hang up their coding gloves.

⚡ What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and delivery of high-performance features for our customers

• Architect scalable backend services, APIs and data models to process operational drilling data

• Set technical standards and drive best practices across the codebase, tools, and pipelines

• Guide and mentor a team of Software Engineers, building capability and fostering a growth-oriented culture

• Collaborate closely with product and design to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions

🧠 Qualifications and Fit

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Proven ability to lead projects or small teams while staying hands-on

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python and their relevant web frameworks

• Experience dealing with relational databases at scale (Postgres/Mysql)

• Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software practices

• Background in B2B SaaS

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud platforms

• Proven track record of building and scaling software products

• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
