Brightorder INC is seeking a Senior QA Automation Specialist  to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated testing frameworks for our fleet management, shop management, and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) applications. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Toronto, Ontario.

You will be responsible for planning and executing advanced test automation strategies, building reusable test frameworks, performing functional and performance testing across multiple systems, and ensuring compliance with fleet and transportation operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and maintain automation solutions for fleet management, shop management, and ELD applications.
  • Build and enhance automated test frameworks using Python, BDD, and Selenium/
    Playwright to validate workflows such as vehicle tracking, maintenance scheduling, and defect reporting.
  • Test and validate ELD-related features such as driver logs, Hours of Service (HOS) compliance, real-time GPS updates, vehicle diagnostics, and backend system synchronization.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues involving real-time fleet data, telematics inputs, and shop work-order processes; collaborate with developers to identify and resolve defects.
  • Create test plans and automation strategies tailored for fleet and transportation compliance workflows.
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on web front-ends, backend APIs, and modules used by dispatchers, mechanics, and fleet operators.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to verify new features such as maintenance workflows, asset tracking dashboards, and ELD compliance screens.
  • Use AI-assisted tools for generating realistic fleet and shop test data, predicting defects, and improving automation coverage.
  • Conduct load testing with Locust to simulate high-traffic fleet operations such as multi-vehicle tracking and bulk maintenance updates.
  • Design and implement automation pipelines for Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) to streamline testing and deployment processes.
  • Review application features and workflows to ensure compliance with fleet, shop management, and ELD operational standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (Python, Behave, Selenium, or equivalent).
  • Proven expertise in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks for web applications and APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of functional, regression, and performance testing methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration and Git-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with Jira and test management tools (Zephyr Scale or similar).
  • Understanding of BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) and test-driven approaches.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with fleet management, telematics, or ELD systems.
  • Knowledge of HOS (Hours of Service) compliance regulations.
  • Experience with load testing tools such as Locust or Apache JMeter.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted testing or test generation tools.
  • Experience with transportation or logistics software.
  • Knowledge of backend API testing and database validation.
