We are a start-up manufacturer focused on building a frenetic culture with speed, collaboration and sustainability in mind. We are looking for founding members of our team. We seek a highly motivated Body Assembly Process Engineer for a position in our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group.

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group is responsible for developing and implementing the processes, equipment and tooling used to turn our Design Engineers' ideas into reality. For our Process Engineering team, we are looking for engineers to work collaboratively with the Vehicle Design Engineers to develop a process that is cost effective to build, and conforms to the vehicle design requirements. As part of this team, you will rapidly develop and implement a world class BIW and CIW assembly process capable of delivering first in class part quality, system reliability and cost efficiency.

Our Process Engineering Team is core to the success of our mission; providing the bedrocks of our vehicles and our customer experience. They will provide direct feedback to the vehicle engineering team, as well as developing the plant tooling and equipment strategy. As leads for pre-launch build activities, they will have direct responsibility for the quality level of the vehicle, and the success of our company.

Role Responsibilities

· Own and define new product manufacturing tooling and assembly line process in order to achieve the defined assembly sequence and quality targets

· Manage all development aspects of assembly line equipment, technology and function for a portion of the Body Center, including

o Project planning and execution

o Technical specification compilation for RFQ generation

o Supplied Services performance

o Design approval and buy-off

o Installation, tryout, validation and debug of equipment

o Reporting to stakeholders on progress and issues

o Issue resolution

· Provide technical direction on equipment and assembly process capabilities to the Manufacturing and Vehicle Engineering teams during the product development process to ensure manufacturability and quality targets can be met.

· Manage the equipment budget within the approved limits.

· Utilize Industrial Engineering tools for operations and layout analysis; including time studies, ergonomic assessments, and throughput improvement.

· Optimize processes and drive the resolution of build issues found during pre-launch and launch activities.


Qualifications

Requirements

·  B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

·  Demonstrated ability and willingness to work collaboratively with diverse engineering teams to deliver projects on time, and within budget.

·  Plant floor experience as a process owner/production engineer, quality engineer or similar role where you were responsible for the performance of production equipment.

·  Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects with a high-level of accountability for results.

·  5+ years of successful experience launching assembly tooling/equipment.

·  Demonstrated experience using statistical methods to improve production results; quality, through-put, cost reductions, etc.

·  Functional user of Catia V6 and Delmia software

·  Travel to equipment suppliers and production facilities internationally up to 30% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Experience working with die suppliers in China/Asia

·  Experienced user of virtual manufacturing simulation software

·  Experience applying statistical analysis to improve product quality and/or production results

·  Bilingual: English / Mandarin
