About the Role

The Sr. Manager, Operations is a people leadership role that will work Onsite at our customer facility in Franklin, Tennessee. They will own the oversight of day-to-day activities and execution of their team with people management responsibilities. They will report on standard work processes to ensure that the transportation solution for each account is fully maintained for accuracy and efficiency. They will multitask and continually collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure service goals and financial objectives are achieved. 

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Act as primary escalation for all Uber Freight businesses that support customer
  • Proactively identify and communicate issues, propose and implement solutions for continuous improvement regarding processes, cost, service, and profitability  
  • Actively network internally and externally with the customer to build relationships to create solutions 
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all internal and external customers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses 
  • Work collaboratively with Client and Client partners to define all metrics required to manage all aspects of the control tower operation 
  • Train and develop team across multiple positions and responsibilities
  • Responsible for training and career development of direct reports (including 1 on 1’s, coaching, sequential performance reviews and mentoring) as well as monitor and hold team accountable for all key job functions  
  • Develop and distribute customer reports and internal performance management reports 
  • Organize and manage priority project list with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with Strategic Account Management group to maintain and grow Uber Freight’s business with the customer; incorporating ROI delivered to customer over the life of the contract 
  • Have accountability to review P&L on monthly, quarterly and annual basis to make strategic decisions 
  • Publish KPI’s during both phases of implementation including the delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics and dashboards to all relevant parties as determined in the collaborative design session. KPI’s will measure the following by mode, trading partner, product and region - data quality, transport performance, exceptions by type, trend analysis, milestone completeness 

Travel 

  • Up to 50%within first year with possibly some internationally within North America 
  • Up to 25%after year one 

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 5 years experience within transportation/logistics/supply chain
  • At least 3 years of people leadership experience (for Office employees) 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and cross-border logistics
