Job Description:

The  Accountant assists in preparing statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the CEO and COO. The Accountant will be responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems. An effective Accountant has a strong understanding of accounting principles.  The goal is to contribute to maintaining the company's accounting and financial processes at a high standard and ensuring accurate financial reporting and control. 



  • Ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day financial functions, such as accounting and payroll.
  • Processing and managing invoices, and supporting the accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Assist with the organization's fiscal activities, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Works with the CEO and COO to ensure financing to support short- and long-term goals.
  • Perform account bookkeeping, reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy of financial data 
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist with the interpretation of financial reports and provide analysis to management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support decision-making processes
  • Participate in the month-end close process and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls
  • Support the payroll department and ensure timely and accurate processing
  • Review time sheets, work charts, wage computations, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Process quarterly payroll taxes in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations

 

Experience:

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field

- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including budgeting, financial analysis, and financial report interpretation

-Familiarity with account reconciliation and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

- Familiarity with CYMA accounting software is a plus

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software

 - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
