Job Overview:
We are looking for a Staff Accountant in Boston, MA to join our expanding finance team as we continue our growth trajectory. This is a full-time hybrid role split between remote work and a minimum three days per week in our Boston office.
Responsibilities:
- Execute all Accounts Payable tasks including invoice processing, payments, and managing vendor relationships.
- Process & manage employee expense reimbursements.
- Record revenue and accounts receivable entries into the accounting system and assist with operations with accounts receivable processing issues as needed.
- Work with Billing Department to reconcile revenue booked to the NetSuite accounting system with revenue reports from the billing system.
- Research billing and client payment issues and questions. Process client refunds as directed by Operations.
- Record bank transactions weekly in NetSuite
- Monthly bank statement reconciliations.
- Monitor bank balances and cash flow. Alert Director of Finance of cash transfer requirements.
- Handle online banking administrative tasks.
- Perform monthly accounting close process including account reconciliations and generation of financial reports.
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and post monthly entries including Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, and Amortization/Depreciation.
- Manage, accurately process, and track Modera Charitable Foundations requests as needed for client and employee giving.
- Assist the Director of Finance with reporting needs for executive leadership, board of managers, and key stakeholders.
- Record payroll entries into NetSuite and track/reconcile employee-related liabilities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, plus a minimum of 2 years of post-degree work experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with NetSuite desktop
- Must be organized with a strong attention to detail
- Commitment to continual improvement demonstrated in a willingness to learn new things and take on new tasks
- Proficient in managing deadlines and ability to schedule tasks accordingly
- Confidentiality is essential
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of planning strategies and solutions
- Highly proficient in financial planning software and computer software, including the Microsoft Office Suite
