Staff Engineer

The Offer team is a vital part of Superbet’s Sportsbook, responsible for delivering real-time, accurate odds to our customers. Our high-performance API serves millions of users, while our back-office tools empower hundreds of sports traders to manage our offer—including odds, markets, events, structures, and translations that define what customers see and bet on.

We process 50,000+ probability updates per second, converting them into precise prices with sub-second latency. This ultra-fast, low-latency pipeline powers the live betting experience and is central to our platform’s success.Our engineers own and maintain ~80 microservices and shared libraries, forming the backbone of a modular, resilient, and continuously evolving platform. Our mission: Build a platform that is highly available, scalable, and reliable—because without odds, there are no bets.

We’ve designed a modern microservices-based architecture, using Golang for the backend and TypeScript/React/Redux for the frontend. We’re passionate technologists leveraging tools like AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB, Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry to power an industry-leading product.

We're looking for someone who

• Has 7+ years of experience building and operating high-scale, low-latency distributed systems—ideally handling tens of thousands of real-time updates per second
• Has led complex technical initiatives across teams and contributed to long-term architectural decisions
• Brings a platform mindset, with strong instincts for internal prioritization and trade-offs; passionate about finding the right balance between engineering quality, delivery speed, and customer value
• Champions operability and observability, knowing that reliability starts with visibility
• Writes clean, maintainable code and follows solid engineering practices—testing, TDD, code reviews, and continuous delivery
• Communicates clearly across functions—through design docs, async discussions, and alignment with stakeholders
• Mentors senior engineers and acts as a technical multiplier across the org

Bonus points for

• Experience with Golang
• Exposure to sports betting or high-frequency systems

What you will be doing

• Collaborate with engineers and leaders across the UK, EU, and Brazil to evolve the core architecture of the Offer platform
• Define and drive the technical roadmap, identifying scaling risks and enabling future product capabilities
• Lead cross-team engineering efforts, aligning on shared goals and delivering platform-wide improvements
• Stay hands-on in critical areas—prototyping, reviewing, and solving hard technical problems
• Mentor engineers, facilitate design discussions, and raise the bar for code quality and system reliability
• Work closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Data teams to balance technical depth with business outcomes
• Take ownership of system performance, resilience, and maintainability—ensuring the platform scales with demand and handles real-time traffic at massive volume
