Lightspeed Systems is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to own and grow relationships with a portfolio of K–12 school districts within an assigned territory. This role is ideal for a seasoned account manager who excels at managing complex accounts, driving renewals, and expanding revenue through cross-selling and upselling—while delivering a high-quality customer experience.

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for your accounts, acting as a strategic partner to district leaders. You’ll be responsible for account planning, renewal strategy, risk mitigation, and expansion, while collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure long-term customer success and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a portfolio of K–12 district accounts, serving as the primary point of contact and strategic advisor
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with district stakeholders by developing a deep understanding of their goals, initiatives, and challenges
  • Lead account planning and strategic review meetings with customers to drive retention and growth
  • Own the renewal lifecycle for assigned accounts, including forecasting, risk assessment, and execution
  • Identify, position, and close cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Proactively monitor account health using product usage data, customer feedback, and internal reporting tools
  • Anticipate and mitigate renewal risk by addressing issues early and coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Manage at-risk accounts and customer escalations, driving resolution and retention outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date account data in Salesforce, including contacts, licenses, pricing, contracts, and forecasts
  • Partner closely with Customer Success, Sales, Product, Support, and Finance to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Provide insights from customer conversations to inform product improvements and go-to-market strategy

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, customer success, or B2B sales roles
  • Proven experience managing renewals, expansions, and long-term customer relationships
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling
  • Strong consultative and solution-based selling skills
  • Experience managing complex accounts with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations
  • Ability to understand and articulate technical solutions to a variety of audiences
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and sales enablement tools
  • Strong organizational, forecasting, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SaaS and/or EdTech environments
  • Experience selling into or managing K–12 school districts or public-sector customers
  • Experience forecasting and owning renewal and expansion revenue
  • Passion for education and technology-driven impact
