Relay’s Mission
Relay exists to free commerce from friction. Today, high delivery costs act as a hidden tax on e-commerce, quietly shaping what can be sold online and limiting who can participate. We envision a world where more goods move more freely between more people, making the online shopping experience seamless and accessible to everyone.
In this future:
Delivery feels invisible—free shipping is the default, and logistical friction disappears from consumers' minds.
Retailers of all sizes thrive equally online, whether selling a £5 item or a £500 one, as delivery becomes universally efficient and cost-effective.
Just as the internet eliminates friction from communication, Relay removes friction from the movement of goods, enabling broader participation and creating new opportunities for merchants and consumers alike.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a Strategic Finance Analyst to join Relay’s Finance function. You will work closely with senior leaders including the CFO and CCO, contributing directly to Relay’s preparation for a major Series B raise in 2026 and strengthening the analytical and operating backbone of the business.
In this role you will help build Relay’s forecasting engine, support the improvement of the financial model that will be developed for investors, and support key parts of the company’s operating cadence.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly analytical, structured, detail oriented, and excited to learn quickly in one of Europe’s fastest scaling companies. You will sit at the center of how Relay plans, forecasts, and executes, producing insights that influence decisions across the entire business.
This is a high impact role for someone who wants to grow rapidly, build core financial and strategic skills, and play a meaningful role in Relay’s fundraising process.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modeling, Fundraising, and Investor Relations
Enhance and maintain Relay’s financial model so it accurately reflects the company’s commercial and operational complexity while remaining clear, robust, and investor ready. The model will need to support cash flow and earnings forecasts, valuation, and SaaS or tech-style performance metrics in line with investor expectations.
Conduct scenario modelling in close collaboration with Commercial, Operations, and Finance, testing sensitivities, evaluating strategic options, and ensuring assumptions remain grounded in operational reality.
Support the fundraising diligence process by maintaining the data room, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all financial and operational materials, and responding to prospective investor requests.
Contribute to the development of the investor narrative and pitch materials, ensuring alignment between the financial model, commercial story, and the strategic positioning Relay presents to the market.
Support investor reporting and communications including quarterly updates, metrics preparation, and insights that connect operational performance to the financial narrative.
Planning, Forecasting, and Governance
Drive Relay’s planning and forecasting processes across the weekly, three month and the twelve month outlooks, acting as the coordination point to ensure all contributors meet deadlines and provide accurate inputs.
Ensure all operational and commercial inputs are correctly captured, validated, and incorporated into the forecast, including customer volumes, pricing & operating costs.
Develop and maintain the three month and twelve month forecasts, highlighting risks, deviations, and implications for the business.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across forecasting templates, inputs, assumptions, and process discipline.
Conduct cross-functional analysis on growth, cost, and margin drivers, delivering actionable insights.
Who Will Thrive in This Role
Someone with strong foundational analytical experience, ideally gained in consulting, investment banking, or a similarly rigorous environment, who is looking to apply those skills in a fast-moving environment.
A highly structured thinker with strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work.
Comfortable working with numbers, models, and ambiguous business problems.
A clear communicator who can synthesise diverse inputs into simple, structured outputs.
-
Operates with ownership and a bias for action and continuously raises the bar on process quality.
