CFD Research Corporation, a small, but growing, 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Systems Engineer with a focus on RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability, safety) to join our Systems Engineering Team in Huntsville, AL. The RAMS Engineer will report to the Systems Engineering Group Leader and lead and collaborate with the team on the execution of reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety pertaining to a given product or project. This role would work across multiple programs in varying stages of the product acquisition life-cycle. Essential Functions:
- Plan and implement relevant activities related to RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability), including:
- Conducting and documenting RAM analysis as well as supporting safety assessments
- Preparing and following up on RAM analysis
- Developing and monitoring RAM requirements
- Preparing and managing risk registers
- Monitoring RAM performance during the planning, execution, operation, and maintenance phases of the projects
As part of the project, the RAM engineer will be responsible, among other duties, for:
- Preparing FFMEA, FMEA, and FMECA analyses
- Developing the RAM plan and the RAM verification/validation plan
- Writing RAM analysis reports, subsystem RAM requirements reports, and system RAM status reports
- Establishing the list of reliability-critical items
- Working with team to solicit input/feedback on RAM status on project(s)
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Systems Engineering and 5+ years of related experience
• Experience leading and generating Design FMEA or Process FMEA
• Experience generating reliability prediction models for mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical
• Experience performing reliability calculations
• Maintenance plan generation
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain/maintain a security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Experience leading and generating System Level FMECAs
• Knowledge of Teamwork Cloud (TWC)
• Knowledge of Software/model repository environments
• Experience generating reliability prediction models for controls systems
• Experience using Cameo
• Experience managing and/or starting calibration programs
• Experience using Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
o Use Cases
o State Machines
o Sequence Diagrams
• Experience in SysML diagramming tools
