Overview of the Role
As a Technical Support Associate (TSA) for Paraplanning, the purpose of this role is to utilize the technical expertise of the team member to provide support and uplift our Paraplanners with technical support, by delivering training, coaching, and projects as directed by the Line Manager.
The Technical Support Associate role can also be leveraged to support billable client roles, like the previous ‘Universal Role’. If a TSA is called upon to fill the need of the Universal role, they will assume Universal KPI’s for that period, as described below.
These ‘Universal’ assignments are subject to demand and decision of the Technical Support Manager. Assignments are no longer than 3 months.
Main duties include:
As directed by the Line Manager, key responsibilities for this role could include:
- Manages internal support channel - VBP Assist to provide real-time support.
- Manage channels and projects.
- Provides technical development coaching sessions (Strategy confirmation or other) with Frontline Team Members.
- Supports Line Managers and Frontline Team Members with identifying skill gaps and working with managers to facilitate upskilling of the Team Members.
- Supports projects both internal and external (client) focused as directed by Technical Leads.
- Creates, supports, and reviews training and development plans in collaboration with both the Technical and Learning and Development teams.
- Provides support with Technical Requests received from the Technical Team.
- Collaborates with other departments around training, development, and projects.
- Completes administrative duties as directed by this may include work trackers, asana, or other platforms.
- Complete ongoing CPD points in alignment with VBP’s CPD policy
Universal Assignment
On occasion and as directed by the line manager, key responsibilities for this role includes;
- Completing tasks as assigned by the client
- Prepare advice documents
- Adjust with each assignment with regards to the different preferences and licensee standards.
- Pass quality assessments
- Strategy confirmations with peer paraplanners
- Provide support (guide and mentor) to their peer Paraplanners if assigned to Practices with existing Paraplanning teams.
- Complete ongoing CPD points in alignment with VBP’s CPD policy
Requirements
- Tertiary education or Graduate of any four (4) year course.
- Minimum of 2 years of paraplanning experience.
- Good communication and emotional intelligence skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate, engage, and influence others.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of the Financial Planning Industry and various advice strategies.
- Ability to form great working relationships with Team Members and their respective leaders.
- Willing to be a team player, mentor and coach team members.
