We are seeking an experienced Manager, Accounts Payable to lead and oversee the full-cycle accounts payable operations and serve as the system administrator for the AP, PO, expense report, and the corporate credit card platform. In this rewarding and important role, your responsibilities include overseeing the AP process, reconciling AP related account balances, maintaining general ledgers, preparing month-end close tasks, lead system enhancements and automation initiatives, and mentoring a global AP team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all payments and expenditures, including vendor invoices, purchase orders, corporate and virtual credit cards, employee expense reports, etc. ensuring the expenses are all appropriate and in accordance with the company policy.
• Manage a team of 3 AP and Junior accountants and oversee processes globally to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Own monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations, including accounts payable, credit card and expense clearing accounts, AP accruals, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances.
• Prepare and review month-end close activities related to AP and expenses, supporting a timely and efficient close.
• Serve as the AP system administrator, including testing, configuring, and supporting new features and enhancements related to AP and expense modules.
• Lead AP and PO system enhancements, implementations, and transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and automation.
• Drive the AP accrual automation initiative, including bills, expense reports, and PO accruals, to reduce manual effort and shorten the month-end close timeline.
• Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses for assigned accounts and explain variances.
• Lead the annual 1099 reporting and filing process.
• Develop, document, and continuously improve AP-related business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Partner closely with Procurement, FP&A, and internal stakeholders to ensure purchase orders are properly matched and expenses are coded accurately.
• Coordinate with AP team members, internal employees, and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, contract questions, and system-related challenges.
• Support external audits by preparing and providing requested documentation, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Director to identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting.
• Provide ongoing training to the AP team to broaden general accounting knowledge and strengthen overall team capabilities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Working hours: 7 am to 4 pm (Colombia Time, GMT-5).

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, Tipalti, Bill.com, and Expensify preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in accounts payable, account reconciliations, PO processes, and month-end/year-end close.
• Prior experience in FinTech and/or SaaS environments strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting international operations, multiple legal entities, and intercompany transactions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF functions, and data analysis.
