Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services and large-scale features using PHP 8.1+ and Symfony 6/7.
• Design, build, and improve REST APIs, including authentication, versioning, and documentation.
• Implement and maintain integrations with external suppliers and partners using REST, SOAP, XML, and custom protocols.
• Architect and deliver complex integration workflows, including booking, search, reservation, error-handling, and retry logic.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues across the stack (API latency, SQL optimisation, PHP-FPM tuning).
• Collaborate on system architecture decisions following SOLID, DDD, and clean architecture principles.
• Design efficient database schemas, optimise queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Contribute to internal libraries, base templates, and shared frameworks to standardise development practices.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Dockerized environments, and AWS-based deployments.
• Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and tracing using OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Datadog, Sentry, or similar tools.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor team members, and help maintain high engineering standards.
• Take full ownership of features from planning to production rollout, ensuring reliability and quality.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-load, mission-critical solutions on time.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with PHP (8.1+).
• Strong experience with Symfony (6/7) and its ecosystem.
• Excellent understanding of REST API design, API versioning, authentication and authorisation patterns.
• Proven experience integrating with external suppliers/partners via REST, SOAP, XML, or custom protocols.
• Solid knowledge of software architecture principles, including SOLID, Domain-driven design, and clean architecture.
• Confident in SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL), query optimisation, and schema design.
• Experience working with Docker, AWS, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub).
• Practical experience with logging, tracing, and monitoring tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Datadog, Sentry).
• Ability to take ownership of complex features: planning, design, implementation, testing, and production rollout.
• Strong code review skills and ability to mentor teammates.

Technical Expectations:

• Ability to design and deliver complex integration flows: search, booking, reservation workflows, retry mechanisms, error mapping.
• Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (API latency, DB queries, PHP-FPM issues).
• Understanding of distributed systems, rate limiting, idempotency, and eventual consistency.
• Ability to improve and maintain internal frameworks, shared libraries, and base templates.

• Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical decisions clearly.
• Active contributor in discussions; able to propose and defend technical solutions.
• Familiar with “disagree and commit” and works constructively even when decisions differ from personal preference.
• High degree of ownership and reliability.

• English level B1 or higher
