πŸš€ This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 4 days per week on site in Bridgwater. You will support site-based engineering through the Joint Design Office, ensuring construction teams receive timely, robust technical responses.

The role focuses on equipment scope across Nuclear Island and Balance of Plant areas, working closely with multiple stakeholders.

πŸ›‘οΈ Ensure nuclear safety and environmental regulatory requirements are met
πŸ“ Challenge design decisions to align with overall project strategy
🀝 Coordinate technical support from internal and external organisations
πŸ“Œ Contribute to resolution and closure of open technical points
⚠️ Assess technical risks and define appropriate mitigation actions
πŸ—οΈ Interface with construction, quality, project management and design teams
πŸ“„ Maintain strong relationships with the Responsible Designer organisation

 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Though it would be great if you have experience in nuclear, it is by no means essential! If you have experience in a highly regulated environment, we want to hear from you. 

It is also important to know that its rare for the perfect candidate to exist. If you feel like you have 80% of the required skills, please don't hesitate in replying.

πŸŽ“ Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
🏭 Experience in equipment design, installation or commissioning
βš™οΈ Background working within regulated or safety-critical industries
πŸ—οΈ Strong understanding of construction and installation practices
πŸ“œ Knowledge of CDM requirements
πŸ”© Awareness of welding engineering principles
πŸ—£οΈ Clear communication within multidisciplinary engineering teams
